Time to Reflect for School Leaders
Location - Diocesan house of Retreat in Pleshey
Time - 22nd March 2018 - 23rd March 2018
Richard Hopkins, Headteacher of William Ford CofE Jnr School, is organising this event and writes:
As one of your fellow head teachers in the Diocese of Chelmsford, I invite fellow headteachers and senior leaders to join me and others at this year’s Time to Reflect at our diocesan house of retreat in Pleshey, nr Chelmsford.
This is my eighth year as a head teacher in our diocese, first in Harwich and now in Dagenham, and I have attended this event every year since 2011. I have found it an invaluable opportunity to stop, relax, reflect and seek support from fellow headteachers. This year we intend to focus our discussion on how to seek peace when faced with some of the more difficult aspects of our job. We will look for inspiration and example from the Bible and share advice and support with each other based on our own experiences.
We will meet at Pleshey at 5 p.m. on Thursday 22 March and stay overnight in their comfortable recently-refurbished rooms. We continue on Friday 23 March and will be free to leave no later than 4 p.m. We will also enjoy the lovely food provided for us at meal times. I have always found that the benefits to me and my school from this time of personal reflection have always more than justified my absence for one day and the small financial cost to the school.
If you would like to talk more about our Time to Reflect, please call me at school for a chat (020 8270 6582) . Please also be aware that spaces are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Alternatively, contact the Education Department at the Diocese of Chelmsford on 01245 294440 who can give you more information and take your booking.
