Global Teacher Award (GTA) – Global Educators Award (GEA)
Location - Diocesan Office, 53, New Street, Chelmsford, CM1 1AT
Time - 24th October 2019 09:15 - 15:45
The Global Teacher Award (for those with QTS) and The Global Educators Award (for non-QTS staff) is funded through the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms Global Learning Programme. It is open to anyone (you or your school don’t have to be part of our Kenya School’s Link). You need no prior experience in global education to participate. The day introduces global learning, including key themes from the Global Goals/Sustainable Development Goals, to enrich teaching and learning in the classroom.
The course and qualification are ideal for teachers or support staff from all phases and subject areas. It is particularly useful if you are interested in developing international or global education within your school. Likewise, it is relevant for those with an interest in eco-schools, spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development, Fairtrade etc.
There is no charge for attendance. The course will be run by Lisa Taner of the HEC Global Learning Centre. Places are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. More detail on the GTA is here https://www.codec.org.uk/courses/global-teachers-award/.By signing up to take part and to fulfil funding requirements, you’ll need to carry out a learning activity in your setting and submit a short reflection on the process after the training in order to gain the award. Time is set aside within the course to plan and start this.
