The Diocesan Governance Consultants can help develop strong and effective governing bodies in a variety of ways suited to the needs and characteristics of each individual school.

Mike Simmonds has 40 years' experience in school leadership/governance across three counties. He is currently Vice chair of the Directors of a MAT (2 schools) and Chair of a Church School both in the Diocese of Chelmsford.
Mike is involved in providing training, mentoring and support for schools and governors in several Dioceses. In the Diocese of Chelmsford this often means supporting Headteachers and Chairs of Governors. He trains on many aspects of school governance and is a passionate communicator from lecterns and pulpits - often speaking at governor conferences across the country. He is continually thinking about how to re-imagine governance in Church schools and provide effective leadership for this and the next generation of children.
To support governors across the Diocese, we offer a range of opportunities for you to discuss any current issues or concerns, to support one another and share ideas.
