Staff, Governors, children and families at St Luke's CofE VA Primary School in Canning Town have recently been revisiting and further developing their Christian vision.
They gave it much thought to ensure that it is a reality in their school, built on what they deeply believe to be relevant and important in their context. The outcome of a great deal of reflection and hard work, deeply rooted in Micah 6.8, is both inspiring and aspirational:
Aspiring to be just and kind. Walking humbly with God. Growing with every opportunity.

In December, to officially launch their new Christian Vision and associated values, St Luke’s were delighted to welcome the Bishop of Barking, the Right Reverend Lynne Cullens to the school, along with Rev Amy Stott from St Lukes church, parents, carers and Governors.
Bishop Lynne shared an inspirational speech with those gathered for this very special occasion, explaining that like most of us, she has had to overcome various challenges in her life. She also met with the school’s proactive Worship Committee, who showed her around the school and with the Justice Committee, who talked her through all that they are campaigning for.
Bishop Lynne was very positive about the strong and active church/school partnership that is growing in the St. Luke’s community and talked of how this co-operation can be an example to other churches and schools around the country.
Well done to you all!
