Stewardship of Creation is a deeply Biblical principle that calls Christians to care for the Earth as a sacred trust from God.
In Genesis 2:15, God places humanity in the garden “to work it and take care of it,” establishing Christians' role not as owners, but as stewards of creation. This responsibility is echoed throughout Scripture, reminding Christians that “The Earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it” (Psalm 24:1). Christians are invited to reflect God’s love and justice in how we treat the natural world — protecting biodiversity, reducing waste, and living sustainably as an act of worship and discipleship.

In schools, this stewardship becomes a powerful way to connect faith with action. By engaging pupils in environmental care — from installing swift boxes to joining initiatives like Eco-Schools or Let’s Go Zero — we nurture a theology of hope and responsibility.
Stewardship of Creation encourages children to see the world as a gift to be cherished, not exploited, and helps embed values of compassion, justice, and reverence across the curriculum.
This page offers resources, inspiration, and practical ideas to support schools in living out their Christian vision through climate action and care for our common home.
