The Global Majority Education Association launch event takes place at Chelmsford Cathedral on Monday 15 November, 6:15pm – 8:15pm, and all are welcome.

The aim of the Global Majority Education Association is:

  • To establish a coalition of global majority teachers, leaders and other professionals directly and indirectly involved in the educational process.
  • To create a forum for the exchange of ideas and strategies to improve the outcomes and opportunities for global majority educators and pupils.
  • To identify, support and develop global majority professionals within the Diocese who may wish to assume leadership positions in the future.

6.15pm Welcome

6.25pm Opening by Aleishia Lewis, Chair of the Diocese of Chelmsford Global Majority Education Association

6.35-6.50pm Keynote Speech by Dave Neita, People's Lawyer and People's Poet

7.00pm Workshops:

  • Diversity in the Primary Curriculum - Pritpal Atwal, Deputy Headteacher, Coopersale and Theydon Garnon C of E Primary School
  • Diversity in the Secondary Curriculum - Munira Said, Assistant Headteacher, St. Edward's Church of England Academy
  • Bringing the Work of Diversity and Inclusion to Governors - Rev. Lee Batson

7.25pm - 8pm Networking

8.05pm - Closing by Rev. Tim Elbourne, Diocesan Director of Education
