These one-day course's enable school leaders and governors to learn more about inspection questions 3, 6 and 7 from the SIAMS framework.
In the morning each one of the three inspection questions will be explained in depth, helping leaders to understand the evidence that SIAMS inspectors may look for to answer the questions. In the afternoon diocesan staff will be on hand to support leaders to write their school’s summary SIAMS SEF. In addition, a ‘masterclass’ will be offered in the afternoon giving a deeper insight into managing the SIAMS inspection phone call which leaders and governors may choose to attend.

Richard joined the education team in September 2020 after ten years in two consecutive headships in Church of England primary schools in the Diocese of Chelmsford. Richard has also served as a member of the Diocesan Board of Education and a lead inspector for Ofsted in the East of England.
Richard lives in the north of the diocese where he has served in his local parish church as a PCC member, church warden and authorised local preacher.
Before becoming a teacher, Richard studied and worked in economics and finance where he developed an interest in the causes of economic disadvantage and their solutions. Richard chose to work in schools in the most economically deprived parts of the diocese in order to develop his understanding of the distinctive role that Church of England schools can play in reducing disadvantage and promoting opportunity and justice. He hopes to continue to promote this agenda in his diocesan adviser role.
Richard is married with four children. He enjoys spending time with his greyhound and is a season ticket holder at Colchester United Football Club.

Katrina only ever wanted to be a teacher and proudly graduated from Westminster College, Oxford in the year 2000.
Since then she has worked in the Primary, Secondary and Independent school sectors. Her roles have been diverse from RE lead, ECT mentor, Assessment lead, Deputy Headteacher and KS3 Strategic Learning Advisor. However, her most recent role has been as a Headteacher for the past six years within a London Borough.
Katrina is proud to have achieved an Excellent in all areas rating under the Independent Schools inspectorate and Outstanding in her previous Ofsted inspections within Essex.
In her free time, Katrina plays tennis, watches football and enjoys spending time with her teenage daughters, niece and nephew. Fun times with the family are very important to her. Although when there is some peace and quiet, she loves to read – any genre – Katrina simply loves to read.
