SIAMS inspections are carried out in line with the 2023 Framework and relevant national policies. The current framework (September 2023) underpins all SIAMS judgements and provides the basis for evaluating how effectively a school's Christian vision influences the life and work of the school.
School leaders should have a clear understanding of their school's vision, its theological foundation, and the impact it has on pupils, adults and the wider community. We also encourage leaders to read the SIAMS Annual Report, which offers valuable insight into national inspection findings, emerging themes and examples of effective practice across Church schools.

During a SIAMS inspection, inspectors will explore how your school’s Christian vision is clearly articulated, lived out and makes a positive difference to pupils and adults. They will look at how this vision shapes decision‑making, curriculum design and relationships, and how it supports pupils to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. Inspectors will consider the impact of collective worship, the effectiveness of religious education, and how leaders support strong, reflective practice. Conversations will focus on impact rather than paperwork, and inspectors will want to hear the authentic story of your school.
