RE Lead & Schools Adviser
Matt began his teaching career in Chelmsford before moving to London, where he worked in charity education roles and taught in Tower Hamlets. He returned to Chelmsford and has spent the last twelve years at Lawford Mead Primary & Nursery School as Deputy Head and, for the last 8 years, Head of School. During that time, Matt has helped lead the school through amalgamation, academisation, and two successful Ofsted inspections.
Matt is excited to bring his experience of leadership to a role where he can support colleagues from a diverse range of school communities — help other leaders navigate the same kinds of challenge and change he has experienced, and be part of a team that champions Religious Education and school visions that ensure children can grow and go on to live life in all its fullness.
Matt enjoys reading, running, records and spending time with his two children.
