Religious Education is a key component of Church school effectiveness and should be intrinsic to the outworking of a school's Christian vision.
Inspection Question 6: How effective is the school's religious education?
This question considers how well RE reflects Church of England expectations, contributes to the school's Christian vision and enables pupils to develop religious literacy.
Inspection Question 7: How effective is the school's religious education in fulfilling the expectations of the Church of England?
This question only forms part of the inspection of maintained voluntary aided schools or academies for which the founding documents indicate that denominational religious education must be taught. Inspection of maintained voluntary controlled schools, and the vast majority of academies that were formerly voluntary controlled schools, will not address IQ7.
